Race for Sale for Professional Sellers: A Low-Effort Extra Channel for Dealers and Teams
Race car dealers, teams and specialist preparers rarely sell through one channel. The same car usually sits on the company website, on one or two established motorsport marketplaces and in front of an existing network of customers. Race for Sale is one more place to put that stock in front of people looking specifically for competition cars, and it is designed so that adding it takes minutes, not an afternoon.
A young marketplace, and honest about it
Race for Sale launched in 2026. It does not yet have the inventory or the audience of marketplaces that have been running for twenty years, and it does not pretend to.
What it offers instead is a low-cost, low-effort way for professional sellers to try it: free Standard listings during launch, no commission, a listing importer that works from pages you already maintain, and a person behind the platform rather than a ticket queue. The site is published in six languages, so a buyer in France, Germany, Spain, Italy or the Netherlands browses it in their own.
Already have your cars online? Give us the link
For a dealer, adding a marketplace should not mean copying descriptions, specifications and photographs from one site to another by hand.
If a car is already advertised on your own website or on another public marketplace, paste its address into the listing builder. Race for Sale reads the page and retrieves what it can find, including:
- make, model and year;
- category;
- price;
- technical specifications such as power, gearbox and mileage;
- description;
- location;
- photographs.
You then review what was found, choose the photographs you want to keep and add the motorsport-specific details the original page did not carry. Fields the page does not answer are left empty instead of guessed. Our guide to importing an existing advert walks through the single-car flow step by step.
Your existing stock page becomes the starting point for your Race for Sale listing.
Importing several cars at once
If you rotate stock through the year, importing one car at a time still adds up. From your dashboard, the Import several listings page accepts up to 10 vehicle links in one go, one per line. Each page is read and saved as a draft with its details and photos, and the page shows which links worked and which did not.
The drafts then wait in your listings, in the Drafts tab. You open each one, check it, complete it and publish it yourself. Nothing goes live without you.
An extra sales channel, not a replacement
We do not expect professional sellers to drop the channels that already work for them. If your cars are on your website, on RaceCarsDirect, on social media or anywhere else, keep them there.
Race for Sale can simply be one more specialist channel. During the launch period Standard listings are free and need no credit card, and there is no commission when a vehicle sells: the buyer and seller deal directly with each other. You already did the hard work when you prepared, photographed and published the car. Give us the link, review the result and publish it to another motorsport audience.
If you are weighing up where to advertise, our comparison of classifieds, auctions and consignment and our overview of where to sell a race car in Europe cover the trade-offs.
Built around competition vehicles
Race for Sale is not a general car classifieds site. It is dedicated to race cars, rally cars, historic competition cars, karts, transporters, parts, equipment and other motorsport inventory.
That shapes how a listing is described and found. Next to the usual year, make, model and price, a listing can carry what a competition buyer actually filters on: eligibility, documentation, specification, history, chassis information, rebuild hours and spares. Someone shopping for a historic car with FIA HTP papers has different questions from someone comparing GT3 and GT4 cars or a Rally2 car, and the structure of the listing reflects that.
Paperwork buyers can actually see
Dealers often hold the documents buyers ask about first. You can attach up to 10 documents to a listing, as PDF or photo up to 4 MB each: HTP or historic papers, logbook, homologation, invoices and rebuild records. For each document you choose whether it is public or available on request. On-request documents are never shown publicly. Buyers see that they exist and can request them through a prefilled enquiry.
When we have inspected the documents supplied, the listing can show a Papers checked badge. It says that we looked at the paperwork, not that the car is eligible for a given series or event.
How listings are reviewed
Race for Sale is meant to grow into a catalogue of genuine, well-presented competition vehicles, not an unmoderated database of adverts.
A person checks a new seller's listings before they go live: the presentation, the photographs, the pricing and any claims about documentation. If something is unclear, we can contact the seller before publishing.
Once one of your listings has been approved, or if you are a verified pro seller, your new listings publish straight away and are still looked over shortly afterwards. For a dealer adding stock regularly, that means no waiting on every car after the first, while the other adverts around yours still go through the same checks.
Fewer unwanted messages
Anyone selling specialist or valuable vehicles online eventually meets spam, suspicious enquiries and scam attempts.
Race for Sale uses its own enquiry system instead of publishing a seller's email address. Your email stays private, and a phone number is only displayed if you choose to show one. Messages from signed-in buyers reach you through the platform, while enquiries from guests without an account are held for moderation before they are passed on. Enquiry volumes are rate-limited, and on cars priced at €20,000 or more, buyers see a short note recommending an independent inspection and a secure payment method.
A catalogue that stays current
Stale adverts hurt every seller on a marketplace, because buyers stop trusting what they see. Every 45 days, Race for Sale asks you by email whether each fixed-price listing is still for sale, with one-click links to confirm it or mark it sold. A listing nobody confirms is taken offline 14 days later, and you can put it back with a single click from your dashboard.
When you mark a car sold, you can optionally tell us what it sold for. That figure is never shown on the listing. It only feeds the anonymous statistics in the price guide, which helps buyers arrive with realistic expectations.

Frequently asked questions
Is Race for Sale suitable for professional race car dealers and teams?
Yes. Race for Sale is a marketplace dedicated to competition vehicles, and it is built to be cheap and quick for professional sellers to try: Standard listings are free during the launch period, there is no commission on sales, and stock you already advertise elsewhere can be imported from its existing web page.
How much does it cost a dealer to list on Race for Sale?
During the launch period, Standard listings are free and need no credit card. Race for Sale takes no commission when a vehicle sells, because the buyer and seller deal directly with each other.
Can I import several cars from my own website at once?
Yes. From the dashboard you can paste up to 10 vehicle page links at a time. Each one is read and saved as a draft listing with its details and photos, and you then review, complete and publish each draft yourself. Nothing is published automatically.
Do I have to stop advertising my cars elsewhere?
No. Race for Sale is meant to be an additional specialist channel. Keep your cars on your own website and on the marketplaces that already work for you.
Are listings reviewed before they go live?
A new seller's listings are checked by a person before they go live: photos, pricing and claims about paperwork. Once one of your listings has been approved, or if you are a verified pro seller, new listings publish straight away and are still looked over afterwards.
Can buyers see my email address?
No. Buyers contact you through the Race for Sale enquiry system and your email address is not published on the listing. A phone number is only shown if you choose to display one. Enquiries from guests without an account are held for moderation before they reach you.
Can I attach HTP papers, logbooks or invoices to a listing?
Yes. You can attach up to 10 documents per listing, as PDF or photo, and choose for each one whether it is public or available on request. When we have inspected the documents you supplied, the listing can carry a Papers checked badge. It is not a guarantee of eligibility for any series or event.
