Description
Custom mid-engine Porsche 935-style race car designed and built by Vision Motorsports in Laguna Hills, California. The project started life as a 1967 Porsche 912; the original Porsche frame remains from the B-pillar to the front cowl, with the rest of the car built as a tube frame. Power comes from a Cayenne 4.5-litre twin-turbo V8 enlarged to 5.0 litres, with custom Garrett turbos, Vision-designed intercooler, custom crankshaft, Carrillo rods, CP pistons, custom headers and exhaust, dry sump system and a 1-inch billet oil pan with four pickups. A dash-mounted selector offers three race boost maps, from 700 hp and 700 lb-ft up to over 1,000 hp and 850 lb-ft. Drivetrain uses an Albins sequential gearbox with paddle shift. Chassis features 997 RSR suspension, JRZ dampers, Tarett in-car adjustable anti-roll bars, electric power steering and 997 GT3 RS brakes with Bosch M4 ABS. Electronics include MoTeC M130 ECU, C125 dash, PDM and custom wiring harness, plus a Harmon custom fuel cell. Pro driver Tom Dyer ran low 1:18s at Willow Springs on the lowest boost setting during a test day. Rear diffuser is not shown in the photos and rear quarter panel molds are included with the purchase. The car can be viewed at Vision Motorsports' facility at Willow Springs International Raceway.
